Francisco Rodriguez TenĂłrio was a pioneer in the canned tuna industry, using only the best cuts of tuna for his preserves. He started his business in Portugal in 1880 producing his first product "Tuna in escabecheâ. Today, his tinned fish is still produced in the Azores, at Cofaco factories, using the same high-quality and artisanal methods over a century later.
